QR & Barcode Scanner

Uses the html5-qrcode engine to scan your camera feed at ~10fps inside a framed scan box (pick a rear camera from the list when available). When a code is detected, the tool shows its format and time — then goes further:

• Link detected — if the code holds a URL, an Open in browser button appears so you can jump straight to the site.
• Product barcode — numeric codes like EAN/UPC/GS1 (the kind found on KEBS-marked products) trigger quick searches on Google, Jumia Kenya, Amazon and Barcode Lookup so you can identify the item.

Camera frames are decoded entirely on-device — nothing leaves your browser.

• ⚠️ Camera access needs HTTPS or localhost plus a permission prompt — if denied, allow it in browser settings and reload.
• Plain, even lighting and a flat, close-up angle give the fastest reads.
• Hold the code steady within the box until you hear/see the scan detection.
• For KEBS product verification, point the camera at the barcode on the packaging — the numeric code will appear in Product barcode detected with ready-made search links.
• Click Stop camera after detection to free the camera for other apps.
